What is the connection among STEM content areas?
The chart below organizes the standards for each STEM discipline. They are categorized by connections across content areas. The shading in the chart highlights the standards that overlap across disciplines. It's quite compelling to see how as teachers we use similar standards for teaching a vast array of concepts. This emphasizes the importance of pedagogical content knowledge in teaching. The "stand and deliver" method of teaching will only reach a few of our students. For the most part, these standards appear to be asking students to take an active role in the learning process.
